STAGE 13: CAERLEON AMPHITHEATRE to CASTELL-Y-BWCH, 5.43 Miles / 8.75km, 

START TIME: 5.50PM, CUT-OFF TIME: 49 MINS

Stage briefing and start on footpath alongside Barracks historical site, on opposite side of car park to Amphitheatre. On reaching car park turn left along Cold Bath Road and then left to follow one way system past the Common. At mini roundabout turn left and in approximately one mile turn left into Malthouse Lane EVENT OFFICIAL VEHICLES ONLY. (see section 6 of the Information  Booklet for vehicle restrictions)

Just before the Newport Road end of Malthouse Lane, turn right through Abbey Woods housing estate, cross Newport Road into The Maltings, turn left then right into Pentre Lane alongside the Three Blackbirds pub EVENT OFFICAL VEHICLES ONLY. (see section 6 of the Information Booklet for vehicle restrictions) Continue along Pentre Lane to finish at top of hill adjacent to Castell-y-Bwch pub.

Team Official Vehicles can reach the finish at the Castell-y-Bwch as follows:

·         Do not turn in to Malthouse Lane, but proceed through Ponthir

·         Continue through Llanfrechfa and pass Grange Hospital.

·         At roundabout, turn left.

·         Turn left at the next roundabout. At next roundabout head to Llantarnam.

·         Opposite Abbey Fields housing estate, turn right to Llantarnam Business Park

·         End of Llantarnam Business Park at roundabout go straight to Hollybush Way

·         Turn left at the next roundabout into Henllys Way

·         Proceed up the hill and take the first left turn into the lane leading to the

·         Castell-y-Bwch (approx half a mile).
